Handwritten letter from George Stewart to Winnie Torbert. The letter is written on two sheets of paper that are folded in half. In the letter, George discusses being at the front lines, as well as the landscape of France (though he mentions he should not say too much or the censors will send the letter back to be rewritten). He says that the noise of shells do not bother him, as staying at his brother's house (Frank and Della Stewart's home) he got used to noise. He mentions his niece. He also mentions that it is the time of the roundup in Wyoming. George also talks about Aunt Marlys being pregnant with the child that would be the donor's father, Rex. He signs the letter "Au Revoir" (Goodbye in French) and "Your Friend As Ever, Geo." |
