This is a handwritten letter from Allen J. Sutherland to his parents, signed "Bud." The letter is written on both sides of two sheets of lined paper. It was written while Bud had just arrived in Louisiana; he mentions not knowing their actual location, just that they passed Camp Polk and are temporarily 115 miles from Shreveport. He mentions their late arrival due to the trucks constantly getting stuck on the roads. Most of the letter is about weather conditions, food, and the temporary relaxation before maneuvers begin. |
