This is a handwritten letter from Allen J. Sutherland to his parents, signed "Bud." It was written while Bud was stationed at Camp Barkeley in Texas but the letter is written on Camp Polk letterhead. The date on the letter could possibly be April 09, but it is difficult to tell as there have been several corrections; the letter was also written over the course of two days. In the letter Bud discusses tetanus shots, a training film he watched, rifle instruction for new men, baseball, furlough, a Regimental Parade, his mail being sent to Louisiana, and Glenn "Punk" Fitch's address. |
