Description |
Photo of hauling on Gillette Ave circa 1909. Bill Lynde's team by platform with "Old Blue" his club-footed lead horse on the right. Caption from a photo published in a 1966 issue of the News Record: "Bill Lynde ran a string team and frieghted in and out of Gillette. In this picture he appears to the left of the little boy in the white shirt in the center. At the left is Lynde's string team, headed by his "Old Blue." Although club footed, "Old Blue" worked as a line horse or lead horse for many years and was well trained. The wooden fence at the right surrounds what is now Boyd's Supermarket." |
