Limited edition pewter belt buckle, front stamped: "1860 Pony Express 1861/Buffalo Bill-Pony Rider" Center of buckle depicts Buffalo Bill on horseback riding through the plains. Reverse of buckle: "No. 91 of 1,000 Limited Edition" "Garden of Eden/P.O.Box 427/Marysville, KS 66508/913-562-5518" "Beginning on April 3, 1860 from the Pony Express Stables the US Mail was carried in a "mochila" on horseback and relayed across 2000 miles of rugged terrain to Sacramento in 10 days or less racing against the elements, hostile Inidans and time. The "Pony Mail" ended in Oct. 1861 when replaced by the telegraph." |
